What’s the Lowest You’ll Go?

I will never forget when I decided to put my Sloane residences up for sale. I was really not sure that I wanted to sell anything in that building because it was so important for me to keep it. My grandfather had built that building before he bought it, and then he left me a few units after he sold the others out. I knew that I wanted to live there for as long as I could because it was rent free in a gorgeous building in a nice part of town. I was single and young in the city and I was going to be able to do what I wanted to and I was so thrilled that I was going to be able to stay there for as long as I wanted to. My family said that I should sell a few of the units because the market was really hot and that it might turn at any moment, we just didn’t know and I should capitalize while I could.

I could not admit that I wanted to keep my unit. I had been married and my husband works in the city so he loves living in a free place. We have been saving all of our money for retirement or a house in the country. I know that I wanted to get a house in the country and move out of the city because I was getting tired of dealing with rude people and I wanted to have a place where we could have a dog that could go out and run around when you opened up the door. The place where you could actually go outside for a walk and not worry about other people walking on the street and into your own personal space all the time.
