I should have known what was about to happen. I was going down the same busy street that I take home from work every day of the work week. As usual there were lots of people who are willing to do all sorts of crazy stuff to save themselves a couple of seconds. At any rate this one fool passed me on the shoulder, which is never a good idea. I could not slow down because there were people all around me. A couple of days later I had to go see a chiropractor in Camas WA, even though the accident did not seem like a big deal at the time. Of course the infuriating thing is that the fool that caused it got through it all without a scratch. He cut off this black Accord and they had no choice except to slam on their brakes. I was three cars back, but no one had any place to go and the whole thing piled up. In all there were seven cars involved.
I did not really think too much of the thing at first. The car I was driving could be described as a beater, it has a lot of miles and a lot of years between it and the assembly line. I bought it used about six years ago and it had some body damage then. The damage to it was significant in some ways, but in truth it is sort of irrelevant because it is not as though I am going to put any money into fixing the car. I have a nice truck I use on the weekends. I did not realize that my back was injured until the next morning, when I tried to get up out of the bed and I was too stiff to do it.
